Chakra Wood is established in Bali, Indonesia and has a representative office in the USA. The company’s founder and creative director, Boni Sori Muda Pane, was born and raised in Medan in North Sumatera. Since early childhood he has been fascinated with traditional wood culture, learning carpentry skills from his father and uncle. After moving to Bali he pursued his passion by working for a company that sold traditional wooden houses all over the world.

Chakra Wood is the product of Boni’s almost 20 years of expertise working with reclaimed wood. He continues to learn about wood by traveling to remote locations in Indonesia to discover unique wooden houses, house fragments and furniture. Boni loves to meet local people and learn about their traditional ways of living. Through Chakra Wood, he often saves wooden houses and other original objects from destruction as they could otherwise be simply burned to make fire for cooking.

Boni has developed deep knowledge about the characters and functions of many types of reclaimed wood. In his factory and shop in Bali he has a large selection of recycled teak and ironwood for sale. He also offers rare primitive art pieces that can scarcely be found anymore.
